Meals are provided free of charge for registered Monroe School District students for the 2020/2021 school year. Sign up is required in order to receive meal delivery or pickup service. To sign up click on the link at the bottom of this section.
If you choose to pick up meals, the meal pickup is at Monroe Grade School Monday through Thursday from 11 am to 12 pm. If you choose meal delivery, someone must be at home for the meals to be delivered. Meals cannot be left at the door. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and precautions, food delivery needs to be as contact-free as possible. The delivery driver will honk when arriving at your address, go to the vehicle immediately to collect your food. If meals are not picked up 3 days in a row or if meals are unsuccessfully delivered 3 days in a row, you will be removed from the schedule and you will need to re-register to receive meals.
As of 2020/21, the income eligibility rules for Oregon families have changed significantly. Under Oregon’s new law “Driving Student Success” you may qualify for free or reduced meals. For example: a family of 4 making up to $6,550 a month will now qualify for free or reduced price meals.
Although meals are provided for free at this time and even if your child does not participate in school meals, completing an application could help our district by increasing our free and reduced percentage. With a higher percentage, you can help us feed ALL of our students for free. The higher percentage also helps us qualify for more programs and grants.
