March 18, 2021 at 5:00 PM is the deadline for interested persons to file their declaration of candidacy or petition of nomination for the Monroe School District #1J Board of Directors for the school board election to be held on May 18, 2021. First day to file is February 6, 2021. All declarations or petitions must be filed with Benton County Department of Elections.
Zones up for election this year are:
Zone 1, 4 year term. Currently held by Sarah Fay. Zone 1 boundary lines are:
Intersection of Alpine Cut-off Road and Hwy 99 West; west on Alpine Cut-off Road to Orchard Tract; south on Orchard Tract to Coon Road (includes east side of Orchard Tract); east on Coon/Orchard Street to Hwy 99 West; north to Alpine Cut-off Road.
Zone 4, 4 year term. Currently held by Bre Miller. Zone 4 boundary lines are:
Intersection of Long Tom River south of Hwy 99W, south to south district boundary Line, east to east district boundary line (Willamette River), north to north district boundary line, west to Hwy 99W, south to Long Tom River.
Zone 5, 4 year term. Currently held by Tony Stroda. Zone 5 boundary lines are:
Intersection of Long Tom River and Hwy 99 West; south to south district boundary line (north side of Berg Drive); west on district boundary line to Cherry Creek (creek, not the road); north to Coon Road; east on Coon Road to Kyle Road; north on Kyle Road to Alpine Road; east on Alpine Cut-off Road; south on Orchard Tract to Coon Road, includes west side of Orchard Tract; east on Coon Road to Orchard Street to Hwy 99 West; south to point of origin.
Persons will be eligible to serve as members of the Board if they are qualified voters of the District and have been residents within the district for one year immediately preceding the election, and currently reside within the zone they wish to represent. No person who is an employee of the District will be eligible to serve as a member of the Board while so employed.
