Dear students, parents, and staff,
The end of the school year is rapidly approaching. Two weeks from today we will have a new cohort of Monroe High School graduates and will begin preparations for the 2022-2023 school year. As many transitions bring new challenges, we look forward to providing rest and relaxation to our students and staff. Here are a few updates/reminders as we progress into the final three weeks of the school year.
Seniors:
Graduation is just around the corner. We are happy to announce that we will be resuming our traditional graduation setting. Though many seats are reserved for the graduate’s families and friends, all are welcome to attend and sit in the general seating areas. The ceremony will begin at 7:00pm, on June 3rd, in the High School Commons/Gymnasium.
Seniors are required to attend graduation practice June 2nd at 9:00am. Please help us coordinate this task in preparation. Parents are invited to help decorate and setup up any specialty items after 12:00pm on June 2nd.
Last Day of School
June 9th is the final day for grades 9-11. This is a half-day where we wrap up the school year, return textbooks and chrome books, and cleanout lockers. Please make sure these items are returning in good condition as fees may apply for missing or damaged items.
Athletics
Spring sports have entered their post-season competitions. All three sports have seen success and have earned post-season accolades. Please keep an eye out for the weekly emailer or visit OSAA.org for up to date information.
Grading
All student work for the school year needs to be completed by the last day of the school year. Teachers may have other requirements, so please make sure students are talking to their teachers about any late or missing work. Summer does not allow much time for extenuating circumstances. Grades are to be finalized June 10th.
Summer School Option
Every year, we offer an online summer school option. If you or your child are interested in courses please contact the high school office. This is primarily for students who need to recover a credit lost in previous semesters to stay on track for graduation.
Important Dates:
6/2 – 9:00am: Graduation Practice
6/3 – 7:00pm: Monroe High School Graduation Ceremony
6/9: Grade 9-11, last day of school and checkout. ½ Day.
Thank you and please reach out to the high school office for further information.
