Monroe High School Update (03/17/23)

March 17, 2023

Dear students, parents, and staff,

Spring is on the way. It is an especially busy time of year at the high school. Please see the following for upcoming dates and information.

Athletics

Spring sports have begun. OSAA.org has up to date baseball and softball schedules or if you would like weekly athletic schedules, please email Beau.Sisneros@monroe.k12.or.us and put “Monroe Listserv” in the subject line. Spring sports are influenced by weather and many changes can happen each week. All spring sports schedules can be found at the high school office.

Smarter Balanced

Statewide assessments are just around the corner. We strongly encourage parents and students to participate in the process. The data from the assessment can help in many ways. Please call the high school office if you have any questions or would like further explanation.

Spring Break

Teachers and students will get a much needed break in a week. Spring break is March 27th -31st this year. There are some athletic events during the break, but we hope that you can take some time to relax. Classes will resume April 3rd.

Senior Project

After students return from spring break, seniors will be preparing to finish and present their senior projects. The students get a chance to showcase the work and experiences they have had shadowing and participation in future careers. April 6th is presentation day and will be an early release day.

Hands-On Learning Day

For the first time, MHS will be hosting the 7th and 8th grade students at the MGS for a hands-on learning day. The middle school students will have an afternoon meeting the high school staff, interacting with various courses and activities, as well as win prizes. The event will be April 27th from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.
