Monroe School Board is currently seeking applicants for the vacant Zone 3 position previously held by Nicole Blanks.
Applicants must be legally registered to vote, have resided within the school district for at least one year by the time they are appointed, not be an employee of the school, and live in Zone 3. A full map of school board zones is available on www.monroe.k12.or.us
School Board members play a vital role in guiding our schools. They can expect to attend one or more meetings monthly. Additionally, it’s important that Board Members show personal integrity, intelligence and be a champion of both the District and its students.
To apply, submit a letter of introduction to the School Board via email at tonya.casarez@monroe.k12.or.us or mail a copy to Monroe School District, 365 N. 5th Street in Monroe. Letters can also be delivered in person to any of the schools or district office.
The letter of introduction should include:
- Why the applicant wants to serve on the School Board.
- What experience or perspectives they have that will help them represent families and students.
- Any relevant experience with organizational policies, strategy or budgets.
- How they engage respectfully with individuals with varied viewpoints.
